Review for Ivory Thai Kitchen My fellow reviewers helped me find Ivory Thai Kitchen and I'm grateful that they did. I was close to Beach street so I decided to stop by and check it out earlier this afternoon for a quick lunch. My first impressions were that the place is immaculate and the dining room turned out to be larger than I had expected. It's appointed with modern tables and seating both inside and outside. The outside tables are under a broad canopy. My order of Tom Yum Shrimp soup and Pork Pad See Ew arrived promptly after I placed my order and were exactly as requested, Thai Hot. The Tom Yum was excellent as was the Pad See Ew which was served with a side dish of additional hot Thai Peppers to bump up the heat as needed. My first experience here was a good one. The service was both fast and friendly and I'll definitely be returning here to try some of Ivory Thai Kitchen's other offerings which include lots of appetizers, sides, soups, entrees and specials for both lunch and dinner. Bon Apetité. "life's too short for bland food, bad wine, weak coffee or cheap whiskey" Ray

Fast service, which is always important. I tried one of their curry dishes (I'll attach a picture), it was my first time trying it. Takes some getting used to the flavor but overall good! Clean restaurant :-)

Best Thai food spot in Daytona Beach. My fiance and I came in around closing, yet they treated us very kindly, friendly, and courteously. We ordered the tofu fried rice and Pad-Thai that were fantastic and amazing. I strongly recommend this hidden gem in Daytona Beach. We will definitely be coming back asap.

Okay, I've tried all their curries and must suggest you do the same. These taste like the real deal, not canned paste and coconut milk. Today tried the pumpkin curry: thick, rich, spicy, so flavorful. We LOVE this place : )

This restaurant has a lovely space with both indoor and outdoor dining. The owners are very nice and what I had of the food it was good. I gave them a two because I paid 9.00+ for lunch and left hungry. The salad came out first and it could have fit on a table spoon. The entree was about half a cup full in measure and that was pretty much it. Flavor was great but it wasn't but a taste. I hope they make it but I think their going to have to step up the portions to do so. Overpriced for the servings and it's no place to go if your hungry. I wish them well, I really do,. Like I said they have everything else right.

No. I did not physically go to this place. But I ate their food as I survived the heat, the humidity and the stress the Hallifax Rowing Races put me through. The food from Ivory Thai might have saved my life. The taste forever imprinted in my overly tattooed mind. I had secretly prayed the weather forecast of stormy winds and rains became true. Although the morning appeared overcast; by noon the sun was merciless. I ran back and forth from the entrance of the bridge to the island park every time I thought my Finicky Foodie was rowing. I have a driving phobia and a crossing street phobia which I practice overcoming each day. This day the bridge-crossing raised my blood pressure to new highs. Our tent was quite far from the actual race. Between the phobia and the flamboyant pride, I took videos and photos.... of many young men who were not my own. I am a terrible mother. I confused him with everyone who wore a yellow tank top (mind you, the entire team wore yellow) and who remotely resembled him. He competed in three races. Each scheduled three hours apart. I should have taken a couple of bottles of Pinot Grigio or some home- made sangria with me, but I did not want to be the boozy mother (again!). I had embarrassed him enough when in one of the races one of the kid's boat turned over and I screamed enthusiastically: "That's my son! Yeah! Go, boy! You are mine!!!" at the top of my lungs and as defiant as Leonardo Di Caprio in Titanic. Needless to say, he was not even from our team. A kind soul decided to walk two blocks and feed me out of my heat-induced mania. He brought Goza (fried pork dumplings that made me want to learn how to cook.) There was also an incredibly savory Tom Kha Gai (chicken simmered in coconut milk soup, mushrooms and lemongrass.) Yes, the soup was not a great choice for such a warm day, but we were gathered inside the closed back of my SUV with the air conditioning blasting at full force. I still have the marks of the nose smashed against the glass windows which prove the envious moment we were experiencing. The Pad Thai and the fried rice could easily pass for fine dining (luckily without the added cost). Nothing was too spicy or too salty. No excess of soy sauce to mask tasteless food. This was umami... the taste of nature in many forms. Wholesome. After that carbo fest, I took a nap in the trunk of the SUV. Crankiness gone. I was so focused I managed to recognize my Finicky Eater rowing his heart away as he made it to a silver medal. I could finally make some sense of that "That's my son! Yeah, baby! You are mine!"--- Behind me, I heard a murmur: "Finally, she got that one right."

Came across this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try...and I'm glad we did! Place is nice and cozy with friendly staff/owner. Food was tasty and came out very quickly. Menu has a good mix of options that all taste great! I had sweet and sour chicken and my friends had curry dishes. I highly recommend giving this place a shot!

Great location and beautiful inside, service was kind of slow. Papaya salad was good except the tomatoes were still frosty from being unfrozen (not too good). We then had the red curry which was watery and didn't contain the bamboo shoots we were told it came with. The Thai basil noodles were very good! Probably my favorite alongside the Thai tea.

Vegetarians beware, this kitchen is very sloppy with ingredients! I ordered the Basil stir-fry with tofu & vegetables, confirmed with the woman on the phone that it was vegetarian, she said yes it was. I pick up the food and get home, I open it and see nice golden chunks of tofu and dump it over some rice. I start eating while watching TV & not really paying attention and realized after a couple bites that there's fucking CHICKEN in my food. Very annoying to ask for something vegetarian (which the menu clearly says they are happy to do) and have them put chicken in it anyway. So vegetarians, beware if you eat here and please double check your food after ordering to make sure there's no unwanted ingredients in your food.

Really excellent Tom Kai Ga soup... Very good Peanut Sauce... Pineapple Fried Rice above average as well... Good service, but then again we were the only customers on a rainy Sunday afternoon ... I would recommend and I will return ...

Went here today after accidentally hitting the sweet spot of 4pm on a Tuesday when both Zen Bistro and Ivory Thai were closed (not that we were intentionally avoiding Ivory Thai at all, just how the restaurant choice chips fell). None of us (my parents and myself) had been here before, so we weren't sure what to expect, but it was a solidly good experience all around. There was nobody else in the restaurant (again, 4pm's a weird hour); our waiter was attentive without being overbearing and the service was extremely quick. The space itself was nice - small, but with a fair number of tables fit in without feeling cramped. Sparsely but elegantly decorated. We had chicken satay for an appetizer -- I love peanut sauce, but sometimes the texture of the chicken is a bit gristly -- not the case with these. And I had a Thai iced tea, which was delicious, though I am in no way a connoisseur. For entrees we got pad thai (duh), masaman curry and pepper steak, all to kind of share. The pepper steak I really wasn't a big fan off; the meat was a little rubbery and the flavor wasn't very, well, flavorful. The curry, I didn't like the vegetables -- but I *knew* I didn't like those vegetables, and ordered it anyway because I'm stupid, so that's in no way a reflection of the dish itself. And the curry sauce was delicious -- I kept spooning onto bits of rice or noodles before finally abandoning any pretense of class and just spooning it straight out of the bowl. And the pad thai was fantastic all around. (my father, after we'd demolished about two-thirds of the plate: "do you want to take the rest home?" me: "uh, hell yeah. dad: "oh. *disappointed face) I was going to just polish it off.") Huge portions, so perhaps they've adjusted their servings since the previous commenter who mentioned small sizes. And though we got three pretty traditional-fare dishes, I liked that they had a somewhere more varied menu than a lot of places. Definitely hope this place makes it! Downtown Daytona is a notoriously difficult area for any business, it seems, and restaurants in particular -- and especially when there are two other (also good, and long established) Thai restaurants in the area. But it's a definite downtown gem.

Came here just by chance. We are thrilled that we did. Delicious food! The atmosphere is nice and clean. The waitress (I think owner) was super accommodating. It was delicious food- we will be back! :)

I think this is one of the best Asian restaurants in Daytona Beach, with a more diverse menu list than most others in the city. Not only do you get to pick from a variety of choices, the taste of each meal is very authentic and delicious. I personally think that the Soft Shell Crab is a very special and tasty South East Asian dish. The owner is a really nice person who's always open to having conversations with her customers. Definitely recommended for everyone, especially those who are curious to try out recipes from the Far East. :)

Hope they can make it in a pretty crowded Thai space. Definitely worth the trip. Al fresco or indoor dinning, they offer traditional Thai dishes as well as some I have not seen. A warm and welcoming owner Elke was spot on when she said she has a good cook. Our three visits have been rewarded with very good flavorful and obviously freshly prepared meals. Hope they can stay around long enough to develop a following because their food is great.
